Each year I go to Rehoboth beach I pass the library. It's on the main road. You can't miss it. I have always asked those I am with if they want to go in, but never have I done it. I am not sure why I never did this on my own. This year as Ray and I sat on the beach I decided. Today was the day. How I love the world created by Montgomery in the Anne books. The description of nature, the poetry of thought, the need for imagination fill the page. I was very surprised at my lack of knowledge about the series as I must have read them many moons ago. The comparison to the movies that I hold so dear is sometimes a hard call for the written word somehow creates places that unable to be depicted in film. I was surprised by the twins and love the character of Miss Lavender in her Echo cottage. Such a feel good place to go. I am looking forward to reading Anne of the Island. One of my favorite lines... "It does people good to have to do things they don't like...in moderation." Makes me think of how mum taught me, and I taught my kids, "we all have to do things we don't like to do". This for sure is part of life.
